Does God agree with getting stoned or drunk?

This is a good question, as Jesus made wine from water at a wedding, John 2:7-10, the Manager of the feast was surprised the best wine (that which Jesus made) was left to last.  Therefore it would be unlikely that the wine was non alcoholic, although some might argue the case at this point.

The Bible is clear about drinking in excess 1 Cor 5:11, 1 Cor 6:9-11, Gal 5:19-21, in these verse's drunkeness is placed in the sin category.  God calls us to a life of righteousness (Mat 13:43) and to be a light to non believers Mat 5:14, stumbling around after a few too many is hardly what one would call walking a Spiritual life.  It is not being said here that the occassional 1-2 drinks is a sin, rather I am addressing the regular and over indulging of aclohol.
To further address the role of the Christian we are asked to be of sober mind  1 Pet 5:8, this may or may not be relating to alcohol however if one is intoxicated they can hardly be of sober mind.  Alcohol brings about disinhibition which further puts the believer at risk of being led astray, Satan is lurking for the opportunity, open the door and he will take a hold, again read 1 Pet 5:8, Tit 2:4-6 Paul here particularly addresses the women and young men, he asks them to be temperate, self controlled, behave prudently, "that the Word of God may not be exposed to reproach (blasphemed or discredited)".

I guess the smoking of pot is summed up with the above, be of sober mind, Jesus said if you believe in him as the Scriptures say out of your inner most being shall flow rivers of living water, by this he spoke of the Holy Spirit John 7:37-38.  Therefore it could be suggested be not drunk with wine or intoxicated with dope but be filled with the Holy Spirit that gives the peace and satisfaction we seek Rom 8:6.
