Free Bible Software Recources & Reviews

Searching the bible has never been easier, with tools that can be downloaded to your desk top such as E-sword this is a free program that can be downloaded from the link provided.  There are bibles, devotions, concordances etc that can also be downloaded for free (providing a donation is recommended). There are other downloads loads that come for a small cost.

I have only used E-Sword as a basic tool however for finding scripture for study purposes  it is easily done with the search tool provided.  If you have downloaded more than 1 version of the Bible you can compare verses, compare your own understanding with Bible Scholars via the concordance and prepare notes, for sermons, bible study groups or your own devotional time.  You can also organise for daily devotionals to pop up on opening which is a very handy tool; if you prefer hard copy reading just print it out.

There is a more modern Bible Software Kit, called "The Word" this program will blow you away, it has so many functions and ease of use however does take a little while to find your way around.  For those that do not speak English there is most likely a translation for you click here, it does not end there on the same web page you will find commentaries, dictionaries, devotionals and graphics.  This paragraph is actually an update as only came across this program last night, I have several versions of the bible loaded in including one in Portuguese.  One great function is you can compare the translations side by side or one over the other with a click of the mouse.

The Word program  has also incorporated into the scripture verse's that are similar; these are shown as links next to the verse you are reading, just mouse over and the verse appears how cool is that?  There is a bible tree function for ease of finding the chapters and verses, this alone is much easier that E - Sword.  With the Word program, you can also change the skin to a taste of your own (skin is a chance to dress up the appearance of the software to your own personal taste).

This like the others is a free program, some of the add-on’s may have a cost; again I suggest you consider a donation.
Want to add pictures to your studies then this site Bible Atlas provides maps that can be found readily as they are in alphabetical order.  I have not tested the site yet myself as the site is fairly new to me, why not post a review below if you have used this site.  The linked page shows thumbnail pictures for you to select, and across the top links in alphabetical order.  Not only are there pictures however there is a commentary and bible readings to further increase your knowledge base.

Net bible from what I understand is a similar tool to The Word program & E - Sword, after a quick review it has far less functions and is mainly a search the bible tool for words and phrases.  In saying that there are handy footnotes like a mini style concordance I guess.   A very simple search tool however is no comparison to E -Sword in my view; there is a version for download to flash drives, such as Mp players and mobiles etc which I guess would be handy BP Bible Portable, the advantage obviously is the portability of the program, take anywhere so to speak.

Online commentaries here is a Mathew Henry commentary which you may find useful in your studies, personally I use one occasionally however prefer to use a prayerful own interpretation but have used Mathew's in the past
I have no affiliation with the above sites and suggest you use any sites with caution, reason being is sometimes I may do a quick analysis on the tool but not really be familiar with other links to the site, such as any bizarre doctrines etc.
More to come soon, save my site to your favourites and return regularly for updated information, I encourage you to leave a response.  Thank you for visiting and God Bless Wayne
